Politics Of A Lonely Life
We go through motions,
tides of our own ocean,
a man made monstrosity
a blood red sea,
For years I've hid,
my insecurities and fear,
with cigarettes, orange bottles, and empty beers,
and with each little thing
death comes near,
and now there's a hole in my heart special fit for you
and one in my head where the bullet went through
and all that's on my mind is a brass casing
and a soul covered in gunshot residue.
i miss what we had,
what we could have,
and now i reside,
in a world halved,
a million miles,
or only three hours,
the distance is far but worth the while,
as long as you're here,
my love will never be in denial.
